Paul joined Mentor Scotland in November 2022 to help us with all the IT and graphic designing aspects of Mentor Scotland. Paul also made the decision to become a volunteer with Mentor Scotland as he himself has suffered with depression and other mental health illnesses for many years, so by using his experience he felt that he could help other men who have struggled presently or in the past. During Paul's roughest times he used The Law of Attraction to focus and draw in more positive energy but also combined with plenty of communication to other men he managed to bring himself into a much more positive place. Paul also works with Children and Families in the residential childcare setting where he has gained lots of experience including qualifications on phycological health, trauma and the adverse side effects of mental health illnesses.

Hi, I'm Gary and I'm 38 from Bellsmyre in West Dunbartonshire. I have 2 daughters and a loving partner. I am an fantasy book nerd, reading is my escape from day to day reality. Anything book or tv on fantasy I'm your guy. I also play some computer games too waste a few hours here and there. I'm volunteering at mentor Scotland as it strikes a cord with me on a personal note as I still suffer from mental health issues. Breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and getting myself and others to openly discuss this is our goal for Dumbarton and the surrounding areas. A much needed service in the community that is driven by a desire to offer help and to make positive change in people's perception.
